Dolphins? Dolphins!!!

I decided I want to wait on at least my bridal portraits before I start recapping, which hopefully I'll get this weekend.  No really, I want to show you how terrible I look without makeup, then post all my wedding pictures afterwards for dramatic effect.

I keed, I keed. Swimming with dolphins was one of my favorite things we did in on our Honeymoon.  We went off the resort ONE time (for numerous reasons which I'll touch on later in my resort review), to a natural water park called Xel-Ha.

It was quite the adrenaline rush, as I was slightly terrified by these super-cute-yet-wild things!
What I really liked about this dolphin tour, is you were in ocean water, not a pool.

So here is how it went:

We watched 2 minute video that pretty much said nothing except 'don't touch the blow hole or dolphin's eyes.' That about summed it up. Then we were homefree getting in the water!! This pretty much sums up all instructions to life endangering activities in Mexico. They hardly give any instructions at all.

So meet Santaab! A rescue dolphin:

They got us all acquainted first, and he just swam around us a little bit for about 5 minutes:

I had to remind myself his fin wasn't a shark fin many a time:

getting less nervous:

Then he started doing some tricks for us:

I'm totally swimming away lol... I was so scared to kick him on accident, then get dolphin attacked..

enough already you crazy dolphin!

and then it was photo op time, man he knew what was up!. I had to make the first move, and I kissed him.

Then he kissed me back.

and posed.

Then I had to hug him / shake his hands?

the trainer yelled: "get closer!" I was like okkkkk...

Then it was time for the foot push. Dun dun dun.
You spread eagle, lock your knees, and then dolphins come and push you by your feet across the way.
The moment you unlock your knees they stop pushing you.

I think my bathing suit bottom almost fell off.

The whole thing was 1 hour, and it was totally, totally worth it. They were so sweet, and It was actually pretty scary to be swimming with such a huge fishy.

This was just one thing we did on our honeymoon, and I really want y'all to see the hotel and hear my thoughts in general about visiting Mexico.. but I'll get back to that late next week hopefully!

A Special Treat

Hey guys!
Our apartment is currently upside down, but I did make my first home cooked meal as a wife.
We couldn't find a pasta strainer, and I cut all the veggies with a hunting knife. It was quite the racket!
But I have a special treat.
As I wait for some of my photos, and catch a tiny break, I have Carolyn here to tell you all about her gorgeous wedding.
Enjoy!
***************************************************************************

Hey all! Tess is away enjoying her first days as a married lady, and I'm here to entertain you all!

Who am I? I'm Carolyn, and I blog over at life, love & puppy prints

Tess asked me to write about something wedding related, which made me really happy, because I actually just finished recapping my wedding! We got married on September 30th, 2011, and it was one of the best days of my life!

Jake (the hubs) completely surprised me by proposing on the day we closed on our house. He made it even more special by proposing as I was opening the door for the first time. That entryway and this house will forever be such a special place for us!

Wedding planning was a long journey for me... 2 years to the day! That's right! We got married on our engagement anniversary! It happened to be one of the few dates that our dream venue had available, so we had to snatch it up!

We live in Minnesota (exact opposite side of the country from Tess!), and had our wedding and reception in downtown Saint Paul.

We got married in Mears Park...

and our reception was at the historic and beautiful Landmark Center!

It's hard to pick my favorite part of the day... there were so many special parts!

spending the morning getting gorgeous with my closest friends...

 putting on my beautiful outfit...

 carrying my beautiful flowers...

seeing my groom for the first time...

exchanging our vows and becoming husband and wife...

puppy love...

puppy laughing...

 family time...

wedding party fun...

goofing around...

 trolley riding...

reception time...

lots and lots of kissing my husband...

first dances...

daddy & daughter dances...

happy tears...

garter grabbing...

flower tossing...

dancing the night away with our nearest and dearest...
with photo booth breaks...

end of the night kisses...

and then we were off on our Hawaiian honeymoon!

I could go on and on and on about our wedding (and I did over at my blog! Go here for the full wedding details!) but I would rather wish Tess and Matthew the happiest of days enjoying their first days as husband and wife! They're magical moments and I can't wait for her to recap them all!

Seriously though... congratulations Tess and Matthew! You're a gorgeous couple, and while I've never met you in person, I can tell that you're a couple that's madly in love and will do so well as husband and wife! I couldn't be happier for you!!!
