Hello from Orlandoooo + My most favorite neighbor

Hi guys! popping in real quick from Orlando - it's been an interesting experience to say the least, and I can't wait to post a recap of this crazy amusement park tradeshow I've had the pleasure of working with over the past few weeks! Minus a crap hotel, everything has been pretty awesome.

Anywhoo.. here is my cute little neighbor Jessie... From Matthew's college buds to our neighbors at the end of the driveway! One of my favorite little families, with the cutest little 14 month old I've ever seen! Seriously, I tell no lies. Look at her?? Too precious!

Its always fun with the Daigles, enjoy!

****************************************************************************************************************

Hello there! I am guest blogging here for Miss Tess while she is soaking up the sun (its mostly overcast, but a solid 80 degrees) in Florida. Well, she's supposed to be working, but hopefully she at least gets to see the beach. I spend a little time each week documenting my life as a wife & mommy over here at Thedaigs.blogspot.com.

I am the lucky wife to the same guy I have crazy about since I was fifteen. I am the mommy to the funniest, sassiest, sweetest little girl. She is sure teaching us a lot about life and making us laugh {and sometimes cry} along the way.
Tess and I are actually new neighbors! Our husbands met and hit it off in college and have kept in touch since. It just so happened that we were house hunting at the same time & built houses just a couple steps away from each other. I love having Tess & Matthew for neighbors several reasons.

Here are just a few:
1.) They love to watch football and drink wine. {Clarification:} husbands watch football, we drink wine.
2.) I have an instant work out partner. Now if we would just {start} working out that would be great.
3.) They love to entertain my daughter and she adores them already.
4.) I love the security in knowing that I have the opportunity to borrow any nail polish color in the world, just a few steps away. Speaking of nail polish- I am taking a vacation from my usual shellac to give this 'painting your own nails' thing a try. So far so good. I found the prefect fall color for me. Not too gray, not too purple. It's Armed and Ready from Essie. Now I just have to figure out this topcoat that Tess raves about (chinaglaze is my go to!) so I can actually keep these babies from chipping after just 3 days.
I don't know why my hand is discolored in that picture. I swear I took it 9 times to get it to look like the ones Tess takes (usually natural light helps!). Focus on the color people not the chewed up cuticles. Enjoy the rest of your week! And stop by every now and then to see what I am up to.....always something going on!

is she just so cute?? go visit her here..now!

Family Friday! + Blue Nails + A giveway

It’s Friday and Im freaking stoked (started out a little bumpy) but my sister is coming from Austin to visit us this weekend, to see our new abode and to help us be more decisive about all this furniture biznazz. But most importantly, I can’t wait to see little nieces and nephewsssss all running around like the crazy big kids they are now. My 5-year-old nephew even insisted he bring his OWN pillows. Seriously how grown up is he??? “He insisted we pack our own pillows” were my sister's exact words. Sounds like an old man to me!

So back to the topic of the furniture buying process, I just have to give a shout out to Stephanie over at BEAUtifulmess. I think she really hit the nail on the head with this post… you want to buy so much at the beginning, and it can somewhat consume you. You have more space than you ever did, and your college furniture looks so small lol! I want a huge linen upholstered headboard, a bar piece, a table, a sectional, foyer pieces and the list goes on and on and on. And even worse, I want to wait til I get all these things to invite people over. Straight up bananas right? But that is not what having a home is all  about.  You really have to take a step back and say “this isn’t going to happen overnight,” and also learn how to say hey Craig hey!

Ok and that’s mushiness for the day. So excited to spend time con mi familia this weekend!! Hope everyone is having a great Friday!!! Oh and here is my giveaway.

I will post more pictures of everything later, have some serious camera problems but here a few of the goodies: A paint your own nails start up kit, including the BEST top coat ever. A few buffers which I highly recommend!! Seriously I wouldn’t lie. And two of the hottest colors this winter!! Also a Zara Scarf,  and some cutie Kendra Scott earrings perfect for the holidays.

And here are my current nails for the nail files - totally swooning over glitter lately which is so unsual for me. It's one coat of Essie "Midnight Cami," glitter on the tips, then then top coat. If you don't seal the glitter with the top coat, it looks kinda funky.

Love you Guys!!

GET in my mailbox!!! Fall nail polish

Heyy Ladies. Or gents. Thank god tomorrow is FRIDAY. I am seriously dragging ass. Probably because boot camp is kicking my ass. But that's a good thing! so I won't complain. I haven't lost too many LB's but I am hoping to tackle my diet next week and hopefully see results.
Moving right along. My current topic of interest, Fall nail colors.

I am currently rocking Ballet Slippers by Essie, one of my all time top 5 nail colors.

Also the 3rd bottle of polish I ever bought. Its the most amazing white for my skin color and I think I just might wear it until I feel like its safe to rock colors like these:

This is heading towards my mailbox!  I actually emailed julep to cancel my box for this month, and then they turned around and said we will give it to you for FRIZZLE. Which is Free if you don't get my ghettospeak. Which I was so excited about because I am seriously lusting after fall nail polish colors.

If you want to join the Julep party follow this link and get your own box for $.01!

I'm out!

Friends and Firework Nails

Hey guys, stopping by quickly today. This week has done quite a number on my mind.. It felt like two Mondays and two Fridays all happening in one week. Confusing I tell ya.

I wanted to share a few pictures of our 4th of July. We spent it with old friends, and realized how happy it makes me to have constants in your life. Life has been a whirlwind the past year and It was great to have a relaxing day with my besties. Just some easy-going fun at Emily and Stan's.

And now for my Fourth of July Nails! I am linking up with Tara and Vicki today to show you my 'firework' nails. I am a sucker for pictures of trendy nails, but find myself playing it pretty safe overall when it comes to my nails in real life. I opted for a touch of glitter over classic red nails.

The red is OPI by Sephora 'High Maintenance.' Guilty as charged - I bought this red because of the name. The Glitter polish is Ulta's Pinata Yea Yea. Lately I have been lovin' the glitter near the cuticle. Overall, I am allergic to anything resembling a french manicure, and prefer everything in reverse. I am without my beloved China Glaze top coat, so my nails are not as shiny as I would like them to be.

On another note has any gotten their Julep boxes yet!? Thoughts? I haven't received mine because I forgot to include the suite number in my address, and the box has been shipped back to Julep. Brain fart! I hope they will ship it back to me free of charge.

Have a good weekend loves, go relax off this strange holiday week!

The Nail Files - Bachelorette Bash Edition

First order of business - Thank you for all the sweet comments about my shower.. I also see some new faces  around here and will be stalking your blogs very soon.

*************************************************************************
Now, for my first nail files link up:
Mosey on over to Tara's blog to see all the rest of everyone's purty purty nails!

It's time to head to the BIG D (Dallas, TX) for my Cinco De Mayo-themed bachelorette partayyy.

And - as my nail polish addiction precedes me - I had to paint them accordingly.
Check out Essie 2011 "Bachelorette Bash"

 [excuse the mess]

It's a fuschia-ish pink, and I don't usually sport pink, but that name just got me.

I've talked to so many wedding vendors today I think my hair might be on fire,
as well as my bank account. No joke weddings aren't cheap my friends.

but Ive gotten that out of the way for the most part, so onto the good stuff. The bachelorette party!!!
Since its Cinco De Mayo - we're pretty much going as the Mexican flag.

Translation: I'm wearing a white dress, and everybody  is wearing red or green dress.

And I get to hang with all my lovies all weekend long. Thats the best part:

Net, Jenn, Em, Marci, Erika and Nessa:

Net and Jessie:

 KK:

Wifey:

Matt's beautiful sisters.. and no we aren't bringing the baby..hehe

I'm also plan to eat as much guacamole as I can get my hands on. Real talk.

to one of many celebrations with our girlfriends!

Cheers! What does everyone else have planned for this holiday weekend??

Yellow Nails

Calling all you nail experts... Do your nails ever get super yellow from days and days of being nail polish? Well mine are super yellow right now and I need a quick fix - so what works?

I heard lemon juice is an old fashion trick but I tried it last night...

And they are still yellow. How do I fix this?!?
I really can't walk around with unpolished yellow nails for that long. I must fix it!

Spring Break Nails

UPDATE:
I tried this combo one more time and it looked waayyy better.

*****************************************************************************
Buzzing in real quick here, its spring, I’ve got spring fever, but OH my gah I am tired! Is anyone else feeling sluggish over the time change?? I’m suddenly wired off sunlight and haven’t been able to fall asleep til 1 or 2 in the morning all week.! Thank GOD its almost Friday.

Anywho enough about me! Here is a cool nail project I was inspired by on instagram, and I have been dying to try out and share. It’s called a ‘ruffian,’ not a clue in the world what that means, but I said ‘sign me up for that!’ It’s basically a lil’ razzle dazzle shimmy shake to your cuticle. Or a French manicure in reverse?? Whatevs here it goes.

***Warning*** this is not a nail project for the impatient. and I mean it!

Round up your supplies:

I chose ‘A Crewed Interest’ by Essie for the base – I’ve had my eye on this light peach for about a month.. and it was worth the wait.. it is Heaven in a bottle people! and “Next CEO” by Nicole for the Ruffian.

Step 2. Paint your nails and let them dry COMPLETELY. I SAID COMPLETELY PEOPLE.

Get your stickers:

Put them on, pay attention don't let those things go crooked now. And make sure they are stuck on TIGHT. If they aren’t the nail polish will wiggle under and give you a sloppy line:

start..Painting the ruffian. Use two coats.

WAIT for it.
WAIT some more. Patience is key folks. WAIT some more. THEN peel the stickers off and apply top coat to smooth out lines.

And you’re done! Then bon voyage to the enjoy the sunlight with your gorgeous nails! (I think they are gorgeous, you may beg to differ)

Here are two pictures because the color looks different depending on the light

(pardon my dents)

Over and out, we’re off to meet with our deacon. Have a happy happy St. Patty’s !!

A wedding dress and wine filled weekend

I know I was a lil' MIA last week, but I've been a little ball of nerves as of late and this lil' blog here doesn't help. So, I took a little break. But I'm ready to catch up!

And what was this girl nervous about?? Besides the fact that my wedding is in 2 months??!?!

My wedding dress is here!
*Clap your hands say yea*

It came in 3 weeks earlier than scheduled.
So A) I was suprised & B) I've only been in the gym for a week. eeeek!

On Saturday I went and picked it up with my mom and was super butterfly-ie because of course, I didn't know how it would fit. I was pretty darn nervous, not gonna lie. I talked to Lauren about it and we decided:

'its just an uneasy feeling'

But in a good way. Basically, It's just a tad nerve-wracking to think you have to monitor everything you put in your mouth because you may be too big or too small for one of the most important outfits you'll ever wear. Talk about pressure. Geesh.

I went with my mom because if that thing didn't fit... I did not want to be with a whole crowd of peeps. No entourage for this girl. Although, sometimes I wish I was an entourage type. But I'm not. I digress.

Here I am walking into Weddings by Debbie:

And taking a pictures with "The Dress"

Well it fit well, and my seamstress was a really cool french lady. She totally gets more cred for being a frenchy. Now, I'm getting to the point where I just want to show everyone and keeping it from people is getting harder, and harder. I'll be rocking a Pronovias 2012... can't wait to share with you guys :]

SO, how did I calm my nerves for this occasion? I curled up in the house and drank wine like a lazy bum. by myself, while ingesting little otherwise..lol

and painted my nails! My favorite thing to do when I'm nervous.

I started out Green on Friday..kinda experimenting with St. Patty's Day nails

I won't reccomend this color ... It's from Forever 21 and was chipping in a day. So I switched it up:

{Essie: Watermelon}

And I looked at pictures of nails on instagram for literally hours... I think by far instagram has the most pictures of nail art and I can sit in one spot and stare for hours. I got some really good ideas and plan to try some challenging stuff. Lets see how it goes bc I am no artist!

Then I ran sacked Sally's Beauty supply for all kinds of goodies to close out the weekend.

Hope everyone is doing well, especially with spring forward. I always groan at this time of year.
Love,
