Galveston Weekend

This past weekend, the weekend before Memorial Day, will always be super special to me. The weather is great, summer is around the corner, and it's the weekend we said "I do!" If you like to stalk wedding posts, I gots lots of em'!

To celebrate we headed south to Galveston, where we got married if you are new around here, and soaked up the sun and lots of family time. I'm so grateful for our marriage, and for this time as the clock counts down to becoming parents! #nopressure

Some scenes from the weekend!

Matt fished on kayak, we caught crabs, ran around the neighborhood in a golf cart, met my dad at the beach and soaked in a perfect weather weekend. We'll be back at it this Memorial day weekend, and I can not wait.

Memorial Day weekend was..

Awhile ago, but apparently I wrote this post and forgot to hit publish. So here it goes... be back soon with my whereabouts... :)

************************************************************************************

The long weekend was great, and very welcomed in our household. After a crazy three weeks at work, I needed some down time with my Matthew. I equally needed time to get the house back in order. Does anyone feel like that one extra day helps so much??

Anyways, we tended to errands, like trekking out to Costco and buying oh about 6 months worth of groceries!

Then we zipped out to Julie and Josh's wedding.

Josh is a fireman, so her garter toss looked something like this! Ha!

Congrats you two!

Then it was time for some late night bowling with the fam. We showed up in our snazzy wedding wear!

And then it was all about hitting the trails! We had two rides this weekend, one into town for some burgers...

Then one up and down the Galveston Seawall for a total of 15 miles! If you are from the Houston area - we started at the seawall and 89th street.. then made our way all the way down.

We made some fun stops along the way too.

I'm just loving all the bike riding that has been going down lately.

Toodles my friends!

A Random Weekend in Pictures

I was putzing around with my camera this weekend. Matthew said it's time to drop our projects and take a trip outta town, so out of town we went.

V-day sprucey spruce on a Friday night.

Leaving Houston, Galveston bound!

One of my fave places

Surprise! It's Mardi Gras. Whoops we forgot.

Random Darth Vader siting

Galveston Pleasure Pier

240 feet up we went.

The only thing I could find to eat, Sans the cocktail sauce.

What I thought was a sign that the 49'ers would win. Apparently not.

Over and out. Bye bye Galveston.

Then we came home and cooked a ton of YF items. Like this spinach and artichoke dip. And I watched the game in my robe, holla! But more about my progress (or lack there of) in the diet department later. I also FINALLY blogged my New Years Resolutions. If you're nosey and like to read other people's resolutions, like me, well then you can read them here.

A busy, busy weekend

Such a fun weekend! Minus the Texans losing, everything was go go go just like I like it.

Kristen and I went on some extravagant date. Accidentally I swear. We had no idea this italian place was so legit. We celebrated our last weekend as yeast eaters..
and finished the night off with donuts..
then met in the AM to yeast-free shop together!

Dieting is way more fun with a friend, for serious.
Then we headed out to Tomball for Emmy's (squeal!) first wedding shower! I have a few pictures but she should have a full recap on her bloggy soon. It was a fajitas and ritas theme, and stan's mom and aunt went all out with the decor.

Then we shot up to Austin. I saw my favorite little Austin girl.

then saw these two lovebirds get hitched!!!

Then woke up early on Monday AM to cook my yeast-free breakfast!!! Heck yes this diet is going well, I can't wait to tell yall all about it Manana!

Ketchup + Weekend Update

So I blogged once last week. Oopsies! It was a nice little break. What was I doing all week? being the booziest little lush Spending a lot of time with friends. Matthew’s best friend turned 28, We had to see a co-worker off who landed a new job, we had a girls night out on the town that I just couldn’t pass up, and one of Matthew’s close friends took us out Saturday night as a late wedding present. Oh and it rained. Like an abnormal amount. These pictures sum up my life lately:

[bar food]

Freaking love this Kiki La' Rue dress. Borrowed it from Kristen and its just so cute.

Bulldogs are really entertaining I've learned.

I have no pictures of Brenner's, where we went on Saturday. But it was amazeballs, and if you are in Houston you should definitely check this place out. Needless to say, my body is screaming for a detox.  I think scream is an understatement. And I think Matthew feels the same. He’s all grumpy-like because I’m not cooking and cleaning, but whatevs, I had me some fun! Fear not Matthew (do you read this??), detox is on its way, as well as a scary boot camp that I signed up for off of groupon.

Before I hit the health train, which mind you I haven’t rode since before the wedding, I am making some huge decisions on the house. I went to a big selection appointment Saturday, and we thought we did amazingly well. So decisive! Ha. That lasted about 12 hours. Because they sent me to tile and décor for JUST kitchen backsplash – and I pretty much changed my mind on everything. Totes my style ya’ll. Check out all this crazy store:

I mean woudlnt you change your mind too?! Bish showed me half my options! GTFO! Of course I picked a bunch of stuff that was not standard. Hey, some of it was cheaper than what they offered, so good day to you Mr. Builder.

So, that’s that. Glad to be back blogfriends. And thanks for the support with my stressiness last week. I felt a million times better after I hit publish, and it was a great reminder of why I love blogging. For some reason the written word helps me process everything, which sounds super mushy and gushy but hey – it’s the truth.

Now go check out Sami, Dana, Leeann and all the other weekend updaters. They’re some cool bloggers I have enjoyed getting to know lately.

Happy Monday :)

The Nail Files - Bachelorette Bash Edition

First order of business - Thank you for all the sweet comments about my shower.. I also see some new faces  around here and will be stalking your blogs very soon.

*************************************************************************
Now, for my first nail files link up:
Mosey on over to Tara's blog to see all the rest of everyone's purty purty nails!

It's time to head to the BIG D (Dallas, TX) for my Cinco De Mayo-themed bachelorette partayyy.

And - as my nail polish addiction precedes me - I had to paint them accordingly.
Check out Essie 2011 "Bachelorette Bash"

 [excuse the mess]

It's a fuschia-ish pink, and I don't usually sport pink, but that name just got me.

I've talked to so many wedding vendors today I think my hair might be on fire,
as well as my bank account. No joke weddings aren't cheap my friends.

but Ive gotten that out of the way for the most part, so onto the good stuff. The bachelorette party!!!
Since its Cinco De Mayo - we're pretty much going as the Mexican flag.

Translation: I'm wearing a white dress, and everybody  is wearing red or green dress.

And I get to hang with all my lovies all weekend long. Thats the best part:
