Our Honeymoon: El Dorado Maroma in Riviera Maya, MX

Things are getting way more settled in Tessy land, and I really want to chat about our Honeymoon today.
We went to El Dorado Maraoma in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Now, logistically, to get to the resort, you fly to Cancun International Airport, take a 30 minute ride and you're there. If you are from Houston, like us, it takes 1 HOUR and 45 MINUTES. Shortest travel time to paradise ever!

If you are new around here, I had no idea where Matt was taking me on our Honeymoon. Fear not! I was micromanaging from afar, and set him up with a travel agent, Lois from New Jersey, who was ranting and raving about the food and short flight which we would appreciate the day after our wedding. She was so right!!!

This resort is "Gourmet Inclusive" which means its all inclusive, but the food doesn't suck. Apparently some resorts are all-inclusive but have bad food. In which you are up a creek. Fortunately, this place did not have that problem. There were 4 restaurants and room service is 24/7 and the food was amazeballs. I think I gained 7 pounds!

They called me Senora Cook all week. It was really funny and cute!

Now for a Tour:

[Here is pool #1]
[pool #2 which was smaller and more relaxed]
[cabanas everywhere]

If you like to park it on the beach and sleep and drink, this place is really for you. If you like the pool, this place is also for you, because it is about 20 feet from the beach. This is a very, very small resort which means it involves very little walking. We walked back and forth all day. Beach, pool. Pool, then beach.
Like this short walk from the pool to the beach:
[almost there]
[getting closer]
[and we're there. very short]
[my boo]
[where you get massages]

[our favorite restaurant with an ocean view]

If you are looking to party, this might not be for you. At capacity this place will have 200 people. We were told about 130 people were there during our stay.

This place was tranquility and relaxation at its finest, and  I would recommend it 100%.

Weekend(s) Recap

Linking up with Sami for the weekend updates! I'm two weekends behind so this was the PERF link-up!

*******************************
Ok so I've been gone for a second. But I've been trying REALLY, REALLY hard to get our lives back in order. I begged and pleaded with my brain to turn back on, and It finally came back mid-week. Thank the lord almighty I was feeling like an airhead.
Proof that my brain was turned off: I instagrammed this picture this week ( follow me at @modernsuburbaniiiite). I was so excited to start reading my little life away. Two days later I go to find the book... and apparently I left target without it. I took a picture of it. I announced it to the world that I bought it. and then somehow left the store without it???? I tell you.

Moving right along.

Last weekend we started making our selections for our new townhouse. Our first assignment: Pick an exterior color.

We drove around LAST weekend, (yes, I am recapping last weekend in this weekend's recap) but these are a few of the colors we found that we like:

We've narrowed it down to these two colors:

Then we went to a concert:

Ok now on to this weekend:

I took like 3 pictures. But we met up with Friends at Citycentre in Houston - and we had quite a few cocktails. I had more fun than I had planned. Which is always a nice little suprise.

We worked our butt off to get our gifts and thank you cards in order!

and we started reading one of our wedding presents!
And you know some more domestic stuff. lol. I'm soooo not domestic.. be back sooon!

In the summer, In the summer

apparently I got married and then suddenly became interested in cooking. And this salsa here is proof. My coworkers Lindsey and Lindsey would go on and on about their latest adventures in the kitchen, and I would half listen and reply ‘yea, yea, yea.'
Well, I’ve started listening a little more closely, and voila! Homemade salsa arrived in our apartment. Matthew was a happy camper. It’s a super easy recipe, and since I don't really food blog, I'm just gonna send you over to her blog, because, well she food blogs. alot. and her recipes are great! Enjoy!

P.S. Wedding recaps start TOMORROW!
