A Sneak Peek into our future home :)

The weekend came and went, but today I want to chat about what is currently taking up all my time and energy. Our future house!

I just HAVE to tell you how excited I finally am. If you are new round' here, Matthew and I are in the process of building a town home in the city. I'm just now getting excited because I get mega stressed with big changes. I'm so critical and put a ton of pressure on myself to do everything right. Then I criticize myself for being so critical. have I confused you already?

Well settling into married life and the preparing for our first home has been no different. I don't know why, but stress is just one of my biggest faults. I wish I could control it, but unfortunately I can not. I can only learn how to drink heavily better manage it, which I think I have accomplished somewhat in the past couple of months.

I have been hiding all this crazy talk above from everyone but Matthew. I mean, I can't vent about wedding stress for seven months straight, then immediately go into house stress!! I think my friends, blog and IRL, would disown me. Shoot I would disown me. Matthew told me to take a chill pill and enjoy the ride, and I'm have started to do just that. This requires telling my worrywart brain to turn OFF.

So off with my head! and onto drooling over my favorite window:

(We just got sheet rock, which makes your house look 3 x bigger inside)
And our imaginary white kitchen:

I'm just so in love! Our bank accounts will be empty but we'll have our first home! Just remember husband, happy wife=happy life!

Technically, it won't be our house until August 31, our estimated closing date. Until then, I am still claiming property virgin! This Saturday we will FINALLY get to make our selections, and I'm freaking so excited!! We literally have 100 more decisions to make, and I can't wait!

I apologize in advance if my blog starts to look like a Home Depot ad. Who knew home depot could be so much fun??? Don't worry - I still love nail polish the most.

Love ya'll,

Friends and Firework Nails

Hey guys, stopping by quickly today. This week has done quite a number on my mind.. It felt like two Mondays and two Fridays all happening in one week. Confusing I tell ya.

I wanted to share a few pictures of our 4th of July. We spent it with old friends, and realized how happy it makes me to have constants in your life. Life has been a whirlwind the past year and It was great to have a relaxing day with my besties. Just some easy-going fun at Emily and Stan's.

And now for my Fourth of July Nails! I am linking up with Tara and Vicki today to show you my 'firework' nails. I am a sucker for pictures of trendy nails, but find myself playing it pretty safe overall when it comes to my nails in real life. I opted for a touch of glitter over classic red nails.

The red is OPI by Sephora 'High Maintenance.' Guilty as charged - I bought this red because of the name. The Glitter polish is Ulta's Pinata Yea Yea. Lately I have been lovin' the glitter near the cuticle. Overall, I am allergic to anything resembling a french manicure, and prefer everything in reverse. I am without my beloved China Glaze top coat, so my nails are not as shiny as I would like them to be.

On another note has any gotten their Julep boxes yet!? Thoughts? I haven't received mine because I forgot to include the suite number in my address, and the box has been shipped back to Julep. Brain fart! I hope they will ship it back to me free of charge.

Have a good weekend loves, go relax off this strange holiday week!

Random thoughts

Ello Loves! I have some really random thoughts today so please bear with me.

First off, if you signed up for the julep box, super cool! Can’t wait to see everyone's boxes and get the lowdown on this brand new Julep polish. I heard it is creamy, but not streaky. Which would mean its an improved Essie? Essie is creamy, but very very streaky.

Anywhoo, if you missed out and have no idea what I’m talking about – check here! You will not be disappointed!

Now, our weekend was filled with some exciting stuff. Like opening a joint checking account, shopping for appliances, furniture, and cleaning most of the weekend. I know, just riveting right??? You're yawning already, I can tell.

Here's hubby at Sears:

Everytime we start shopping I just start singing “I don’t wanna grow up, I’m a toys r’ us kid…” LOL. And Matt says, “Tell me how you really feel, babe.”

Moving right along.

We finally got over to my mother-in-laws to check our mail – and it was a very good mail weekend.

Exhibit A – our marriage license! I got super excited about this! Now to start all the name changing paperwork!

Exhibit B - Tara sent me these goodies in the mail. I told her I was on nail polish buying hiatus, because this whole married life budget thing and she sent me this. How sweet of her! :)

and.. a Sunday AM Realization - this is as healthy as it gets in our household, and it needs to change immediately. Before my ass gets as big as Texas, the state I live in! No freaking joke. But not til after the holiday of course..

Happy Early Birthday USA! I'll be heading to Emily's for some lake time!

Peace out and happy Mondat!
