What the Yeast Free diet Looks like

Yay you're here! Which means you are interested in the yeast free diet, or losing weight in general, and I have great things to say so far - so keep reading. If you are not interested in Yeast-Free, I should be back to regular programming tomorrow! I hope this post will be a series of posts, including what yeast-free feels like (absolutely great I might add) and *hopefully* some results pictures down the line!

So far I've lost 6 lbs, which is a lot when you are 5'4'' - and can fit back in my pants!  I am loving the challenge of cooking normals things yeast free, but I have to admit it takes a lot of time and preparation.  Here is a peek into the life of yeast-free dieter:

Saturday morning, feeling like a champ with my waffle made from almond flower. That organic blue agave vanilla may or may not be allowed. Still debatable ;)

Papasitos, a YF approved Mexican restaurant. I eat the salsa, the beans, the chicken and lemon butter sauce.

Not being to able to find my favorite almond butter for a week. Apparently everyone is eating healthy.

Steak marinated with chives ans seasonings. No Worcestershire sauce!

Lots of reading this book for recipes.

That would be a pattern swatch. Totally unrelated. But my never ending search for curtains continues.

Lots of natural ingredients to season your food, ie. fresh garlic, onions, tomatoes. Even if a recipe doesnt call for it, I throw one of these ingredients in for flavor.

That would be YF catfish Gumbo... So delicious

Gumbo recipe:
{catfish gumbo recipe - 2-4 catfish fillets, 1/2 a cup of each: green pelpepper, celery, yellow or white onion. a bag of frozen okra. 1/2 tsp of salt,oregano, thyme, and cayenne pepper, 2 bay leaves, or 2-3 gloves of garlic, and 4 cups of chicken or beef stock. saute the half a cup of green pelpepper, celery, yellow or white onion in olive oil. Then dump in everythign but the catfish and cover on low for 25 -30 minutes. Then put in the catfish for another 10. I put in 2 table spoons of oat flour on the last five minutes to 'thicken' it.} found on page 52 of this book}

That would be me last night. Crazy woman in the kitchen. Cooking 3 things at once so I can have leftovers and spend time anywhere but the kitchen for the next two days. ie. the GYM. Or baby shower shopping for Jennifer!!

Included in this crazy picture you see: pot to make turkey bacon, pot to boil eggs, pot for gumbo, not pictured: BBQ pork in oven, curry pork in crockpot. Avocados! Oranges, total dessert ;) lots of ingredients, oh hey stripe wall hey! Some chalkboard labels for a future project, oh and a haggard cook! That would be me :)

Picture below: lots of meal planning

Lots of meat.

So whats really interesting about this diet: My cravings have seriously gone to the wayside. I used to get a mexican food craving about 2 a week. Sometimes 3 times a week. And I just had to have it. I didnt care about cost, calories, lard, or any of those things. I just wanted to faceplant into a bowl of chips and queso. Now that I am in week 3 of YF, I seriously have no cravings. Sometimes I forget to eat. I ate 5 strawberries and a handful of cashews yesterday at work. I had nothing to eat, but wasnt even hungry. It's sort of unreal!

But I am fresh out of time! If you have any other questions just shoot me an email or comment below! I may have missed something, or missed a lot!

The Healthy Train, choo chooo

Ok so I just have to take a break from wedding recaps and link up with my boo Kristen, and the hilarious Raven. Hell I don't even know if I'll ever finish these wedding recaps.  Well, you know how wedding stuff goes, you work out like a maniac, starve yourself, try every gimmick diet you've ever seen, (which here is a good one if you are looking for a 'cleanse').

All In My Twenties

Well sadly, since the wedding I have somehow gained 8-10 pounds, don't fit into my clothes very well, and am drinking venti starbucks and large diet cokes all day every day. Everything is just a little tighter it seems, and I am seriously lacking motivation. I'm also a bi-polar eater. I will eat egg whites and whole wheat toast sans butter, then end up at a mexi restaurant downing queso like H2O. The egg whites made me feel like I deserved queso? Maybe? lol.

So, to combat this extra poundage, and generally just get healthier, I signed up for a boot camp on groupon called 'The Lean Mean and Green" or something or other. I Actually bought this a long time ago, but since I am a 'groupon' holder our schedule is delayed.

Check out my wedding body.. on the left..

yes my sink is a mess, and why didn't I touch up my make-up??
oh and there's my 'now' picture on the right. I know I won't ever get back to my wedding weight.. but I do hope to get back to normal!

My biggest goal to get out of this healthy inspiration is to meal plan, "eat clean" but also make my healthy meals matthew-friendly.  And just overall make our household healthier.

We shall see how it goes! Boot camp starts next Monday! I am prepared to die!

Wanna lose the last 3-5 pounds?

Well I might have the answer for you! it's called 'fat flush soup' by Anne Louise.

I love it because it is
A) its hearty and doesnt leave me starving ie. Pre packaged food
B) its natural and doesnt give me crazy mood swings - ie. Diet pills
c) is actually pretty decent in taste

UPDATE: Ok so here's the deal: eat regular breakfast - something healthy is probably best - then eat the soup for lunch and dinner for three days straight. Eat a good portion too.

DUDE. This stuff WORKS.

Ingredients:

This weekend people kept telling me I looked thin, and of course I was in a little disbelief and scanned the room to make sure they were talking to me, then I said 'wait, come again? are you sure?'
haha. well yea just check out the recipe!
I think over all it took me one hour to get all the stuff from the g - store,
and one hour to make it. Email me if you have any questions!

1 ¼ lbs. lean ground beef, turkey or chopped chicken*
1 large onion, peeled and chopped
1 large red, orange and/or green pepper, seeded and chopped
1 large zucchini or yellow squash, chopped
8 oz. mushrooms, chopped
2 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
1 bottle (46 oz.) reduced-sodium tomato or vegetable cocktail juice
1 can (15 oz.) pinto, garbanzo or black beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (14 oz.) crushed tomatoes
1 Tbs. fresh lime juice
1 Tbs. ground cumin
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper, or to taste
1/4 cup each fresh cilantro and parsley leaves, chopped
1: In saucepot over medium-high heat, cook oil 30 sec. or until heated. Add beef, turkey or chicken. Cook 5 min. or until cooked through, stirring occasionally. Remove from skillet; drain, if desired.
2: In same saucepot, cook onions, peppers, zucchini, mushrooms and garlic 5 min. or until vegetables are crisp-tender, stirring occasionally.
3: Stir in next 6 ingredients and cooked meat. Add up to 1 cup water to thin soup, if desired. Cover; bring soup just to a simmer (do not let boil). Reduce heat to medium-low. Let simmer 20 min., stirring occasionally. Stir in cilantro and parsley. Cover; let simmer 5 min. more. Garnish with shaved Parmesan cheese, if desired. Soup can be stored up to 5 days in the refrigerator or frozen.
*Or for vegetarian option, omit meat and add another can of beans.

So really, does anyone have any diet tips? Maybe a subtle supplement that helps kick start you so I can find some motivation?? I think if I can lose a few quick pounds it will help me get in the mood. OR should I just wait for the winter blahs to pass?? help!
