Our Honeymoon: El Dorado Maroma in Riviera Maya, MX

Things are getting way more settled in Tessy land, and I really want to chat about our Honeymoon today.
We went to El Dorado Maraoma in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Now, logistically, to get to the resort, you fly to Cancun International Airport, take a 30 minute ride and you're there. If you are from Houston, like us, it takes 1 HOUR and 45 MINUTES. Shortest travel time to paradise ever!

If you are new around here, I had no idea where Matt was taking me on our Honeymoon. Fear not! I was micromanaging from afar, and set him up with a travel agent, Lois from New Jersey, who was ranting and raving about the food and short flight which we would appreciate the day after our wedding. She was so right!!!

This resort is "Gourmet Inclusive" which means its all inclusive, but the food doesn't suck. Apparently some resorts are all-inclusive but have bad food. In which you are up a creek. Fortunately, this place did not have that problem. There were 4 restaurants and room service is 24/7 and the food was amazeballs. I think I gained 7 pounds!

They called me Senora Cook all week. It was really funny and cute!

Now for a Tour:

[Here is pool #1]
[pool #2 which was smaller and more relaxed]
[cabanas everywhere]

If you like to park it on the beach and sleep and drink, this place is really for you. If you like the pool, this place is also for you, because it is about 20 feet from the beach. This is a very, very small resort which means it involves very little walking. We walked back and forth all day. Beach, pool. Pool, then beach.
Like this short walk from the pool to the beach:
[almost there]
[getting closer]
[and we're there. very short]
[my boo]
[where you get massages]

[our favorite restaurant with an ocean view]

If you are looking to party, this might not be for you. At capacity this place will have 200 people. We were told about 130 people were there during our stay.

This place was tranquility and relaxation at its finest, and  I would recommend it 100%.

Stop it. This is just not fair. It's rainy and gloomy in NYC and my flight would be three times as long. Looks absolutely amazing! Good job Hubby and Lois!

The surface of the earth is soft and impressible by the feet of men; and so with the paths which the mind travels. How worn and dusty, then, must be the highways of the world, how deep the ruts of tradition and conformity! I did not wish to take a cabin passage, but rather to go before the mast and on the deck of the world, for there I could best see the moonlight amid the mountains.
