Yellow Nails

Calling all you nail experts... Do your nails ever get super yellow from days and days of being nail polish? Well mine are super yellow right now and I need a quick fix - so what works?

I heard lemon juice is an old fashion trick but I tried it last night...

And they are still yellow. How do I fix this?!?
I really can't walk around with unpolished yellow nails for that long. I must fix it!

Lets Catch Up

If you are here from Kristen’s blog.. hiiiiiiii. So nice to see you!
You're probably expecting some cute post about my shower but my goodness I have a case of the Mondays! This weekend was so fun I just wanna go back!! We had our first wedding shower and this girl had a few too many cocktails (sorry mom). Lol.
I always forget I can not drink like a college kid but am abruptly reminded the next day.

Well, half my case of the mondays is I went from having permission to eat this:

and this:

back to this
(yes I dangerously take pictures while I drive):

Yup that’s a small ass meal correctly pre-portioned, low sodium, practically air in a plastic box low fat meal. From 365 meals, a healthy food store in my work building.

Pain ladies. PAIN.

I was so hungry I ate another one:

Which prettty much defeats the purpose.
BUT, to my defense it was practically one more box filled with air.

Moving on from my lack of discipline…my nails are also a hot mess:
Gimme some nude polish that will last all week STAT.

I have so much to tell y’all but I need to catch someZzzzzzzzz’s. And stalk your blogs!
I will be back with a wedding shower recap soon,
but I need to grabsome real pics that weren’t taken from a lame iPhone!
Check out Kristen andMarci’s cute posts for now!

Love love.

Wedding update - The Church

I talked about how we met with Deacon Peter last week, and he rounded up all the things we had left before he would contact Father Stein know that we had finished our preparations - and were ready to be married in the Catholic Church.

Well – one of those items I needed was my baptism certificate. Uh, seems easy right? Well Tessy here got baptized here:

Yes that would be Caracas, Venezuela in South America. My first thought was, holy crappers, I do not know where that certificate is, and how the heck am I going get it from Venezuela. Mind you I had these thoughts a long time ago and then forgot and was reminded again last week.

Well I contacted one of my aunts that lives down there on facebook, and was waiting to hear back from her. But apparently my mother was digging through a stack of papers to trash and found it! PLUS some incredibly hilarious pictures to go with. Hip hip, hurray!

Now the pictures were just too hilarious not to share…
alrighty...

my god parents.

can we go home yet?

beach tessy ..some things never change..
I shall return with more news.. we are having our FIRST wedding shower this weekend! No house updates.. but hopefully we will have one soon. Fingers crossed.

Toodles,
Tessy

To Matthew ...59 Days to Go

Tomorrow, when the post is scheduled to publish will be 59 days to go for Matthew and I. "The Big Day," to "say I do," to "tie the knot"..whatever you want to call it. I am not a big fan of countdowns, to be frank, they give me anxiety. But here goes.. 59 days till I marry the love of my life.

I've gotten the itch to elope about 5 times in the past week. Queen of impulse here - but knowing how many people would kill us prevents me from even bringing it up lol. I think suprising everyone would be the coolest thing on the planet - but It's ok. You promised we'd renew our vows someday on the fly, and I already can't wait :)

I'll never forget the day we really met. You altered the course of my life in ways I didn't know possible. I haven't always had the easiest family life and you gave me that stability I was missing.

I know this was sappy.

But I love you babe.

Weekend recap

We had such a good weekend I'm sad for it to go!
it was filled with spontaneous fun which if you know me is my fave kind of fun .. In other words our house hunt drove us to drinking
We didn't realize it at the time but basic trend of the weekend was...
meet with the realtor,
meet up with Emily and Stan ..
for cocktails
Hahaha.

Here are some pics to sum up the weekend:

Foooooood:

We got the party started on the lake with some green cocktails!

Matthew brushed up on his boat driving skillzz

Our hair was out of control to say the least:
long hair don't caree...jk I need to cut those locks..

The hostess.. pardon my fake smile lol..

And we fished:

hung out by the water
Sunset
And then boys conked out early and we had a Nail polish -face wash- makeup brush washing total girl party!

on Sunday we got to meet this little one:

I shall return later this week with all kinds of updates and some link up fun!
Hopefully a house update too, if not that means we'll be homeless people after the wedding!!

High Five for Friday!

Tee.Gee.iiii.EFFF.

Oh weekend thank goodness you are here! This week was extraaa long, and I know everyone is ready for the weekend. We have quite a few things to do and are house hunting for the first time with our realtor.. and I hope to get in the gym at least twice ..we shall see how it goes.

Here are my top 5 things this week:

1. It was spring break, so all the kids must be at home. The traffic was minimal!

2. My new iphone charger!
[I was sans charger last week and borrowing from coworkers during the day like a hobo]

3. Only 2 months left of living apart from Matthew...I’ve been staying on Matthew’s side of town since Wed night.. it’s so nice to see each other during the work week.  :)

                              4. My ruffian nails – including 'A Crewed Interest'

5. Our SECOND to last meeting with our Deacon before the wedding

[ a stone wall on the church grounds]

Have a good and safe St. Patty's day everyone.

Spring Break Nails

UPDATE:
I tried this combo one more time and it looked waayyy better.

*****************************************************************************
Buzzing in real quick here, its spring, I’ve got spring fever, but OH my gah I am tired! Is anyone else feeling sluggish over the time change?? I’m suddenly wired off sunlight and haven’t been able to fall asleep til 1 or 2 in the morning all week.! Thank GOD its almost Friday.

Anywho enough about me! Here is a cool nail project I was inspired by on instagram, and I have been dying to try out and share. It’s called a ‘ruffian,’ not a clue in the world what that means, but I said ‘sign me up for that!’ It’s basically a lil’ razzle dazzle shimmy shake to your cuticle. Or a French manicure in reverse?? Whatevs here it goes.

***Warning*** this is not a nail project for the impatient. and I mean it!

Round up your supplies:

I chose ‘A Crewed Interest’ by Essie for the base – I’ve had my eye on this light peach for about a month.. and it was worth the wait.. it is Heaven in a bottle people! and “Next CEO” by Nicole for the Ruffian.

Step 2. Paint your nails and let them dry COMPLETELY. I SAID COMPLETELY PEOPLE.

Get your stickers:

Put them on, pay attention don't let those things go crooked now. And make sure they are stuck on TIGHT. If they aren’t the nail polish will wiggle under and give you a sloppy line:

start..Painting the ruffian. Use two coats.

WAIT for it.
WAIT some more. Patience is key folks. WAIT some more. THEN peel the stickers off and apply top coat to smooth out lines.

And you’re done! Then bon voyage to the enjoy the sunlight with your gorgeous nails! (I think they are gorgeous, you may beg to differ)

Here are two pictures because the color looks different depending on the light

(pardon my dents)

Over and out, we’re off to meet with our deacon. Have a happy happy St. Patty’s !!

My Third Wind

Thank you for the sweet comments yesterday. There are some new faces around here and I'm having so much fun reading everyone's blogs.

Well spring is here.. And it's beautiful :)

The rain has FINALLY stopped in Houston, the sunlight lasts til late evening and Texas summer is approaching. It's no secret that this is when southerners are most comfy!
In our sun dresses and flippy floppies!!

With the weather change comes the realization: our early summer wedding is in two months and holy moly my second, shizz my THIRD wind has arrived. Thank the lord and little baby jesus because I needed some pep in my step! Sitting around mulling is just no way to live!

I told Emily my Third wing wind was here and this is what she had to say:

[haha]

Julie was the most rational:

And Mr. Wonderful was not having my crazy late night bridal brain!
He is a lil sicky so he gets a pass:

Something else I saw:
[Uh huh]
Well, considering we are planned our wedding in 5-6 months there is no time for early! On time is about as much as we can accomplish. But I'll keep this in mind for future endeavors!

Time to tackle the final to-do list and try to stay sane,
send all the good juju you have my way if you can!
Also, I wanted to do the Ashley from Happily Ever After's Hub in the Hot seat link up but Matt is sicky poo so we'll show for next week ! Go link up with her!

I'm using way too many exclamation marks! I clearly have way too much energy! Love you blogworld!
